Tell us a little about your background
After completing my degree in business management in 2015, I began my career in the TIC industry as a project coordinator in product certification at a well-known certification company. Later, I focused on international sales of hardgoods certification and was soon able to position myself well in the company and support reputable brands internationally as a global key account manager.
What led you to join CUCG?
Having spend my early career in the TIC industry, I realized the increasing importance of sustainability and compliance. This inspired me to join Control Union as a sales and marketing manager, where I contribute to making the world a safer and more sustainable place. Also being given the opportunity to further develop my passion as a sales manager with my own team greatly motivates me.
Can you describe an interesting job activity and what makes it stand out?
From the first meeting with a potential new customer to the final result, there are many exciting and sometimes challenging areas. I find meetings that focus on the latest top issues like recycling particularly interesting. It is also very special to run into textile products in everyday life that have been certified by Control Union, according to the GRS standard for example. That gives us a sense of accomplishment and makes us proud.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The biggest appeal for me is that the issue of sustainability is either completely new for many companies, or not yet particularly well established. This means that even our clients have to reorient themselves internally and externally. In some cases, new departments are being set up for sustainability and compliance management. If we as Control Union can be part of that journey and clients trust us to work with them to develop this area, then that is very exciting for me.
What do you enjoy most about working with the team at Control Union Germany??
I enjoy most that our certification teams are sometimes very different in terms of certification standards and programs, but we still work towards the common goal of sustainability. From biofuels & biomass to sustainable textile certification, our certification experts at Control Union work daily to ensure that projects are processed quickly and, above all, in a solution-oriented manner.
What is one of the biggest challenges you face in your role, and how do you overcome it?
I consider Control Union to be one of the future leading certification companies in the field of sustainability. We are currently developing concepts for a long-term company presence. This of course means that an increase in the number of team members is necessary as the company keeps growing. That is why we are constantly on the hunt for new colleagues who are as passionate about sustainability as we are.
