Non-GMO-food
About the standard
In Germany there is significant consumer demand for non-GMO-food. This has also been recognized by retailers which are increasingly promoting certification among their suppliers.
VLOG is currently the only collective voice representing the interests of businesses that support GMO-free food, whether they are agricultural producers, food manufacturers or retail chains. VLOG enables its members and licensees to communicate to consumers in a standardized way that food products sold are produced without the use of genetic engineering and without GMOs. The current certification procedure includes a document review and an annual inspection audit.
VLOG-label
At present most VLOG members and users of the VLOG-label are based in Germany, but food producers based outside of Germany, including in countries without their own equivalent national regulations, may use the “Ohne Gentechnik” seal as well. A VLOG membership and certification benefits farmers and manufacturers of food and animal feed located outside of Germany delivering to the German food market as well as producing and marketing within other EU countries.

Other accreditations
Besides regular VLOG certification, Control Union Certifications Germany GmbH is also accredited to conduct the document check for organic certified companies in order to receive a certificate of license and use the “Ohne Gentechnik” / “VLOG geprüft” seal on organic certified products.
VLOG certification is also an ideal supplement to other quality assurance standards such as QS or GMP+.
